Saudi Visa for Bangladeshi Citizens: The Honest Route Map
Bangladesh is not on the Saudi eVisa list - so how do so many Bangladeshis travel to the Kingdom? Gulf residency, family sponsorship, the used-visa route and Umrah, set out without the agent myths.
- Bangladesh is not on the 72-country Saudi eVisa list
- GCC residency opens the eVisa: passport 6+ months, residency 3+ months
- Family visits are sponsored by your host inside Saudi Arabia
- Work visas are employer-led through official channels only
The fact to start from
A Bangladeshi passport alone does not qualify for the Saudi tourist eVisa. Bangladesh is not among the 72 eligible countries, and no fee paid to any agent changes the list. What follows are the routes that genuinely work - between them they cover almost every real journey Bangladeshis make to Saudi Arabia.
Route 1: you live in a Gulf country
Bangladeshis resident in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia's other neighbours in the GCC qualify for the eVisa through their residency. The conditions are just two: passport valid at least six months, residency valid at least three months. The old profession condition is gone. You receive the standard tourist eVisa - one year, multiple entries, up to 90 days per visit - which also covers Umrah outside the Hajj season.
Route 2: visiting family in the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia hosts one of the largest Bangladeshi communities in the world, and family visits run on sponsorship: your relative in the Kingdom obtains the approved family-visit invitation through the official channels, and you apply against it before travelling. Begin early, keep names and dates consistent across every document, and expect the host's paperwork to set the timeline.
Routes 3 and 4: used visas and Umrah
If you hold a US, UK or Schengen visit visa that you have already used for entry at least once, you may be assessed for a Saudi visa on arrival. Unused visas do not count, and the border decision is final - which is why this route suits confident, well-documented travellers.
For Umrah, Bangladeshi pilgrims travel through the official Umrah system and approved organisers, with Nusuk handling permits. Work in Saudi Arabia is arranged only through the employer-led employment visa channel, processed with the official manpower authorities - anyone offering to sell you a work visa directly is a danger sign, not a shortcut.
Common questions
Can Bangladeshis get a Saudi eVisa?
Not on the passport alone. The working routes are GCC residency, a used US, UK or Schengen visa assessed on arrival, a host-sponsored visit visa, or the official Umrah channels.
I live in Qatar. Which visa do I apply for?
The standard tourist eVisa, through the GCC-resident route - one year, multiple entries, up to 90 days a visit, Umrah included outside Hajj season.
Someone offered to sell me a Saudi work visa. Should I pay?
No. Saudi employment visas are processed by the employer through official channels in both countries. A visa sold to the worker is a warning sign.
